Description
Hi, I’m Eliza, I’m a 28-year-old lesbian looking for a double room in East/North-East London from early-mid February. I’m open to either a room in an existing flatshare, or finding someone to buddy up with. I would prefer to live with other LGBTQ+ people, and don’t want to live with straight men. I’m vegan, and I do have a preference for a vegan/veggie household, but this is not essential as long as we’re not sharing pots and pans.
Happy to live with cats, but would prefer not to live with dogs.
I love cooking and baking, and I love cooking for other people so am happy to do shared meals sometimes. I love reading and writing, arts and crafts and various creative hobbies, and going for long walks around London. I’m quite chatty and love a good yap, but also need time alone to recharge sometimes. I would like to live with people I can be friends with, but the most important thing for me is living with people who are considerate and respectful that we’re all living in a shared space.
I’m a PhD researcher at UCL’s school of Slavonic and East European Studies, doing social anthropology research on the experiences of displaced Ukrainians in Britain. I’m really passionate about my research, and I’m also really interested in Ukrainian art/culture/language as well as my research topic itself. I typically work on campus, especially during term time when I’m teaching, but I need to live somewhere where I am able to work from home 1-2 days a week when necessary.
I’m looking for a calm home environment, with flatmates who are clean, respectful, conscientious and good communicators. No party houses. I’m okay with houseguests if I’m given sufficient warning and they’re not staying for too long, but I don’t want to live somewhere where people are frequently staying for extended periods of time. I want a home where I can have friends over for dinner from time to time, but I am not suited to a flat with lots of late-night parties.
I have a stressful job, where I am often engaging with distressing topics and working long hours, so I need a home environment that is calm, cosy and predictable. I am also neurodivergent, so it’s important for me to have a space where I can relax and unmask, so I don’t want to live somewhere where there are lots of people randomly coming and going. I’m not a particularly spontaneous person, but I am very reasonable, and flexible when I’m given sufficient warning. I know the London rental market is horrible, and that we all need to compromise on some things. I want to live somewhere where all of us can feel at home.
I am clean and respectful of communal spaces, and I prefer to have clear protocol around cleaning (such as a cleaning rota, or a checklist of what needs to be cleaned each week, etc), and around who buys things like toilet paper, cleaning products, etc. I am happy for some kitchen stuff to be shared, as long as this is clearly communicated.
Please get in touch if you have a room available, or are interested in buddying up!
