Description
Hi, I’m David. I’m a writer working across TV and theatre, and I’m looking for a new place to live in London.
I’m friendly, considerate, tidy, and generally very easy to live with. I like a home to feel like an actual home, not just a place where people pass each other silently in the kitchen like they’re all being held hostage. Ideally people in their thirties. But I don’t discriminate on such fickle things.
Work-wise, I write professionally, so my days are usually a mixture of writing, meetings, deadlines, pacing about, and staring out of windows while frowning as though I’m solving something important. I’ve often been judged for seeming like I’m unemployed. But I genuinely do have a proper job, even if from the outside it occasionally looks like I’m just sitting still, going mad. I write TV comedy and TV drama, sometimes both. I also write for theatre, so although it’s a creative job, I’m actually pretty structured and normal in how I live. I’m at home a lot.
Personality-wise, I’m sociable, warm, and up for a chat, the pub, dinner, or the occasional shared glass of wine (most nights is fine), but I’m also very aware of other people’s space and routines. I’m not someone who brings loads of chaos into a house, and I’m well past the point of thinking “messy but fun” is a personality. I make a good beef shin ragu. But only if there’s a proper butchers around.
I’m looking for somewhere calm, friendly and grown-up, with nice people, a bit of character, and a good atmosphere. Ideally a place where people are happy to talk and occasionally hang out, but where no one’s forcing a family meeting because somebody moved a frying pan. Or borrowed an egg. Guys, there’s loads of eggs.
I also come with a professional Gaggia coffee machine which is small but mighty (it doesn’t take up too much space)
I will happily make coffees for the house every morning. I’ve been doing it for five years. (Not barista trained - I go off-piste)
I’m single, so you don’t need to worry about extra units on the water bill from a second person’s morning shower.
P. S. In another life I used to be a musician, so I’ll be bringing a guitar with me. Always up for the odd evening jam or song session, if that’s your thing. If not, no worries. I’ll play quietly in my tiny room.
