Description
Single, tidy, nature-loving male wishes quiet life in the city, or at least within a short train or bus ride. Sorry about this list but I like lists: Cotham, Kingsdown, Redland, Clifton (and Hotwells) of course are ideal, as are Southville and Bedminster, but Montpelier, St Werburghs, Bishopston, Ashley Down, Westbury Park (and -on-Trym), Henleaze, Stoke Bishop (lol) and anywhere up the line to Avonmouth will also fit the bill. Not ruling out farther afield if the area is nice.
I was a computer programmer but am now writing birdwatching books and alternate histories. I don't expect to be in much during the day since I am a keen birder, weather permitting. Obviously local avian life would be a huge bonus, even just a good garden.
Because I'm writing, I'd need a desk for a laptop. I have my own chair! And my own double bed, if that's a help (and I've always occupied a double room). Some sort of communal area would be good, preferably not dominated by a television – a large kitchen, say? Just like students!
Living off savings and a small pension, I'm looking in the range of £700-900 pcm inclusive. That'll keep me going for another few years! Or at least one more book, which I'm weirdly setting in California.
Moving (from Portishead) before the winter is the plan, so no great hurry, though if the place comes up, now would be fine. Not really in to a short-term let: I've moved enough during my life!
