2 nights mid week - visiting grandparents

Hi

We are a (young at heart and both still working) older couple. We have a month old grandson we are visiting every week and we will be looking after him in his home in St Albans one day per week from the spring.

We live about 2 hours away from St Albans. Ian works from home and Judy travels into London. So we are looking for a regular place to stay a couple of week nights a week where we can leave a few basics, rather than a different airbnb each week. We would never be there at weekends

We are quiet, clean and tidy, don't play music or watch much TV. Ian works for an American company so may be making phone calls through the evening. We aren't enthusiastic cooks at the best of times and in this setting will probably be heating ready meals or doing scrambled egg on toast. We shower very quickly! We have other adult family members - and a lodger- in our own home so we are used to being flexible and negotiating use of facilities. We can bring furniture, use yours or mix and match.

A double bed, good broadband, a workspace, non-smoking home and access to parking are the only essentials.

Other things that would particularly appeal to us:

our own shower room or only shared with one other
a clean uncluttered space
outside space or a park nearby
light and airy place where we can open bedroom window at night.
walking distance from Bernards Heath and St Albans station
takeaways and small shop nearby
to pay less than our maximum budget if possible
