Seeking Short-Term (~ 1 Month) Double Room

Hi! I’m a 30-year-old British freelance website designer and developer, currently based in Sutton, South London. I work fully remotely and have the flexibility to live in different parts of London, which is why I’m looking for a short-term double room to rent.

I’ve recently returned to the UK after travelling Asia for the past two years. Before that, I lived in a flat in Clapham Common that I originally found on SpareRoom, and I’m still very close friends with those housemates - so I really value living with good people and a positive household vibe.

I’m clean, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces, but not overly intense about it. Personality-wise I’m social and friendly, enjoy chatting and the occasional weekend plans, but also value my own space and downtime. Ideally not a party-every-night house, but I’m absolutely fine with a lively, sociable place at weekends.

What I’m looking for:
- A friendly, sociable household where people are open to chatting, getting to know each other, and ideally making new friends
- Double room (ideally furnished)
- Short-term stay of around 1 month (open to 3 weeks minimum or extending if it works well)
- Budget ideally £600-£800, up to £1,000 max per month
- Anywhere in London, ideally near a tube station
- Desk and chair would be a big plus as I tend to work from my room during 9am-5pm

I’m a non-smoker and work standard daytime hours, though my schedule is flexible. As a bonus, I speak conversational Mandarin Chinese, so it would be great (but not essential) to live with Chinese speakers for language exchange and practice.
