PhD student/professional seeking a place near UKC

Hi, my name is Rhona, and I am a 27 year old, Irish, 4th year chemistry PhD student at UKC. I’m in the last few months of my studies and I’m hoping to finish my PhD on schedule in September. However, I will be staying in Canterbury to teach at the University until December in order to give myself some time to breathe and recover post PhD, and time to consider my next career move and apply for a job I'll love. My current housing contract finished at the end of June, so I am looking for somewhere to live for the six months between July and December. It is a career break of sorts, but I will be working the entire time so paying rent and bills will never be an issue.

I have lived in Canterbury for 4 years and house shared the whole time. I have been incredibly lucky to always have amazing housemates and a good house vibe and I'm hoping to continue this trend. Obviously, I will be focussed on getting my PhD done, but I am always up for a chat, a movie or a drink every now and then, but I am also happy to keep to myself and socialise outside the house if that would suit better. I have a wide range of interests but the biggest are fantasy books, writing, theatre, rugby, watching films in the cinema and everything Marvel.

I am ideally looking for a reasonable size room as I have a desk and bookcase that I would like to bring along to the property, although I can make arrangments to store them if necessary. I am willing to stretch my upper limit rent wise for the right place. Please get in touch if you think I might suit your property!
