Description
Dear Londoners,
I'm a writer/editor/language teacher looking for a room with space for a desk and some bookshelves for early next year. My move in dates are flexible; the main thing is to find the right place, preferably in a household where people read and have some appreciation of creative endeavour/the writing life.
What I do:
-Longform journalism for print and online. Writing a proposal for my second book
-Book editing (a long-running project on Antarctica for an author-client)
-Online language teaching for private clients
What I’m looking for:
-Room with a bed and space for my desk (140 cm, lightweight flatpack) and my swivel chair
-A clean, quiet flat where I can read and write comfortably when needed
-Zones 1-3, with a preference for Peckham or nearby
What I’m like to live with:
-Quiet
-Considerate
-Work from home some of the week, but prefer to be out and about in cafes, libraries (especially British Library, for my book proposal) and attending meetings and events.
-Consistently busy with multiple projects
What I’m into:
-Modern history and international relations
-Books
-Drawing
-Photography
-Cinema, (esp. 70s, 80s, 90s)
What I prefer to avoid:
-Shouty messages in all caps from buy-to-let landlords
-Places where people keep odd hours (ie lots of noise/activity after midnight)
