Description
Dear Londoners,
I'm a writer/editor/language teacher looking for a room with space for my desk and some bookshelves. My move in dates are flexible; what's most important is to find the right place.
What I'm doing:
-Longform journalism for print and online
-Writing a proposal for my second book
-A books and authors podcast
-Online language teaching for private clients
-Occasional copy/development edits
What I’m looking for:
-A quiet room with a bed and space for my desk (140 cm, lightweight flatpack) my swivel chair, and some bookshelves
-A clean, quiet flat where I can read and write comfortably when needed (a few days a week, though I prefer to work out of the house whenever possible)
-Strong, reliable wifi
-Zones 1-3, with a preference for north London on Piccadilly/Victoria/Overground, or Peckham or Brixton as southern options
-Good access to British Library would be a big plus
What I’m like to live with:
-Quiet
-Considerate
-Work from home up to half the week, but prefer to be out and about in cafes, British Library, attending meetings and events.
What I’m into:
-Modern history and international relations
-Books
-Drawing
-Photography
-Cinema, (esp. 70s, 80s, 90s)
-Russian language study for journalistic purposes (I attend a weekly class)
What I prefer to avoid:
-Shouty spam messages in ALL CAPS from buy-to-let landlords
-Places where there's lots of noise/activity at night
