Description
I'm a freelance journalist writing for The Guardian, Vogue, The Washington Post, Elle, Business Insider, Harper's Bazaar, The TIME magazine, among other publications. I would appreciate if you could please read the ad until the end, as I am looking for something rather specific and I am in no hurry to move.
I am looking to move into a new place sometime in the next few months but I am also quite comfortable with where I am at currently. So for me to move, it would require me to find exactly what I am looking for and I am totally okay with not finding it for now and the process to take longer.
I am flexible date-wise. I am in central London 3 times a week for work, but other than that, I work from home - which basically means being on my laptop for 3-4 hours a day and then going for a run! My work is fully remote.
At the moment I am looking to stay for 4 months max, after which I am going to be travelling for 3-4 months, before coming back to London, which is what my lifestyle looks like at the moment. I spend half the year in London and the other half abroad and I sublet my room for the time I am away. If I move with you, I am happy to sublet the room for the time being I am away, and ideally come back to the same place.
I am a social person, but also like my own space and respect each others' space, which is the primary reason for putting this ad up. I love the house I am in right now and consider it a sacred space for my own well being. I usually host friends for a dinner party once every 2 months, but other than that I don't have guests over. That was the unsaid rule between me and my flatmate for the last few years that we woruld only have guests over once a month, but now she has started dating someone and is bringing the person over every week, which has really annoyed me and infringed upon my space. If you are someone who is always having people over, probably we are not the right fit. I am very outdoor-sy and love theater, running, tennis, dance classes, hiking, skiing, picnic, surfing, paragliding, and because of that reason I really do use my house and living space as a place to decompress and I don't have the nervous system capacity to constantly have my living space intruded by other people. It is tolerable if it is once a month, but anything more than that very much destabilizes me. I understand it may seem very radical but that's where I am at right now with my capacity.
Location wise, I don't mind anywhere as long as it is in zone 2-4 and I could get to central London in about 40 minutes.
I am a clean person and would really want to move into a clean flat as I can't stand clutter. But I am also not ocd and I won't be pestering you about it like Monica from Friends. I
I really value communication and would expect my flatmate to be as open and honest with me as possible. As I don't have any set hours, and work for a lot of US clients, sometimes I may be working on my laptop after midnight but I am mindful and quiet during those hours. If there are any other issues with my lifestyle, I would ideally love my flatmate to communicate that rather than let it fester in resentment. I am looking for a flatmate who doesn't see conflicts as an attack because as humans, we are bound to get into conflicts but would love someone who is receptive to it and doesn't take it personally and has great communication skills and conflict resolution skills.
As I said, I am not in a rush to find a place but just want to start exploring the idea to see what's out there and hoping the universe surpises me to make an aligned decision and move in the next few months.
