Nice Person (I Hope) Looking For Other Nice People

The boring (but important) part:

My name’s Tom and I’m a 25-year-old trainee journalist, studying full-time for an MA at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The most important thing for me is to be kind, I think.

After 2+ years in flat-shares with people who struggle with anger management, I am (desperately) looking for a mature and adult environment, in which people understand how to handle the basic communication of living together without creating hostility. If your flat enjoys/suffers from dramatics between its tenants, please do not contact me.

The less boring part:

I’m a bit of a cliché, if I’m honest. A cliché with legs is my usual line. I have long-ish hair and usually wear it tied back in a bun. In my spare time, I do a bit of stretching and breathing, read books, and the songs that get stuck in my head fall somewhere between the years of old-school hip-hop and bebop jazz.

For the most part, then, I’m an unbearable stereotype.

But besides all of that, people do sometimes tell me I’m a decent person. I certainly hope so. I’ve had the benefit of leading a fairly multicultural life so far and I think the most important thing is just to treat other people how you want to be treated. Every morning before school, my mum used to stop the car, and before letting us out would say: “what are we not going to do today?”

We’d have to reply: “put people down!! 1!! 1!” And then she’d let us out. I know, I know. But that is, perhaps unfortunately, the kind of world I’m from.

Plus, I actually enjoy washing dishes! Weird, eh?

I like lively people and I like peace. A calm and clean living environment is essential for me; let’s do our thing and respect each other. What goes around comes around. It’s nice to be nice. You get what you give. There are more nipples in the world than people. I guess that’s my philosophy? But if anybody says the word karma I will boak.

In my spare time I read and write and play music and chat with people. I’ll be working most of the time I’m in the flat so probably fairly quiet on my end. But if you think we would get along and even co-exist in an open/mature way, I would love to hear from you😊
