Description
Hi there, I’m looking for a double room that’s spacious, light and airy. Ideally the space is shared with a maximum of 2 others. I’m looking for somewhere for at least 6 months but ideally a year, maybe longer, but not much hopefully, if at all. I want my own flat ultimately and need some more time to facilitate that.
I’m a generally quiet private person. I’m an autistic/adhd neurodivergent spectrum person. I’m not particularly bothered about which label but the information does help with my own understanding of myself; and being very late diagnosed I’m still in the process of understanding how this knowledge can help me with my daily being.
In terms of renting a room, it means that I need to have a quiet, and at least relatively tidy place where I can completely detach from the rest of the world.
I am very much a solitary person and prefer it that way for the most part. Social interaction has to be minimal for me. For the moment at least. Just being in the same space with others, for example going to the gym three times a week, is often enough interaction for me really. And I hardly ever speak with anyone there; just being in the same space doing our own thing, my ears plugged up and music on.
I enjoy creative pursuits- art, music, cooking, gardening, making things. Anything creative really. I enjoy drawing and painting particularly, and I’m learning to play the piano and guitar. I have a full size electric keyboard (and headphones) and a couple of acoustic guitars. I really very much enjoy the process of learning and understanding- play, learn, apply, grow.
I also need a hip replacement and spinal surgery due to arthritis. The condition has been classed as extremely severe and is very painful and disabling, especially when I’m not able to keep up with my self care because of outside distractions. It’s why I started going to a gym a couple years ago. To be able to have a faster recovery from surgery, if or when that happens.
As such the room is ideally on the ground or first floor. Second floor would possibly be a painful push and the home would have to be particularly special, or spacious at least. I’ll also need it to be within 30-35 minutes bus ride to the city centre, specifically the OMNI Centre.
For the most part, you wouldn’t generally notice any effects of the arthritis or autism without having spent a fair amount of time with me.
I also practice yoga and meditation, and I’m generally great with animals too. As much as I love to cook good meals from scratch and eat healthily, my favourite food groups are still burgers, pizzas, and chips. Which I can also make from scratch now too. I’m a smoker and being able to smoke indoors, at least in my room, is essential for me. I also work from home three days a week for 10 hours each day tethered to a laptop making telephone market research calls. Another reason why I want a generally quiet space.
If you’ve made it this far, then maybe we could get along and share a space together.
I look forward to meeting you.
Thanks
Shahed
