Description
Hey guys!
28 year old guy from Edinburgh, Scotland, looking for a room in London with either decent transport links to London Metropolitan University, or somewhere walkable! (I’m the kinda guy who’s 6’5” and classes anything within 45 minutes as walkable once I’ve got my headphones in)
I studied Graphic Design and marketing at Edinburgh university 2012-2016, going on to work in the marketing department for one of Edinburgh’s biggest hospitality companies before moving to London in 2019 to expand out. Unfortunately due to the covid lockdowns and some personal/family issues at the time, I left London in early 2021 to move back to Edinburgh and have been here since.
I am now returning to London to study my second undergrad in Sociology at London Met after deciding I needed a change - as a 28 year old I don’t plan on having the ‘normal’ freshers experience, having already gone through that in my late teens/early twenties and working in a hospitality environment for the majority of my adulthood. I’m the kind of guy who likes to keep himself to himself, and although I do love to socialise I prefer to keep my space as my own space and have never really been one for hosting or having visitors around, much preferring to meet in public for a meal over things like wild house parties - After lockdown I’m not much of a drinker so nights out for me are a bit of a rarity.
As a student with an open invitation to work part-time in an old workplace (n Dalston) I don’t plan on being around the flat a lot, and am very respectful when coming and going late at night after shifts, but I do plan on spending the majority of my time either studying, working, or at the gym and out and about. Preferably looking for flatmates who are similar and don’t mind the occasional chill night in, or flat night out!
As I am in Edinburgh My course officially begins on the 17th of September, and I am planning to have moved by or on the 15th at the latest - I can however move earlier if necessary and if the room is unavailable for a few days after have no issue moving into an airBnB or hotel temporarily for up to a week before moving in.
Although I would prefer not to due to my age and the fact I am a mature student, I am also able to provide a guarantors details. I am also able to provide references from previous landlords, as I have just moved out of a flat for which I was lead tenant and contact in order to stay with family during the period between there and my move to London!
Although I understand my current location being in Edinburgh can complicate things, I am more than happy to view rooms online and am able to move at a moments notice right now, as I am living out of a suitcase in my family home - so realistically I am able to move, pay moving costs, deposits, first months rent etc, and be moved into the room within 48hrs notice!
Looking to spend between £600-850 per month including most bills but for the right room could go a little higher - as a student I’m council tax exempt but don’t mind paying my share if moving in with non-students and it doesn’t break the bank! I’m the kinda guy who loves to stick his headphones in and walk anywhere if it’s within a couple of miles but any place with easy links to Holloway Road is good for me!
Should probably mention I’m one of those guys who also got a mid twenties diagnosis with Autism and ADD, so any flatmates who are in the same boat or at the least somewhat clued up on neurodivergence would be a bonus!
