Music academic seeking flat/share in Edinburgh

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Sara, originally from Italy, currently based in Birmingham. By profession I'm a composer, conductor, educator and researcher, focusing on music and wellbeing. I'm moving to Edinburgh for a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Edinburgh (EH8 9NW). I'm also an active Scottish country dancer and dance pianist — genuinely excited to be part of that community here!

I'm open-minded, friendly, quiet and reliable. My week is a mix of working from campus and home. I enjoy arts and crafts, plants and time in nature, and the occasional dinner in with friends. Not into loud parties at all, in fact I really value a calm, respectful home where people are considerate of each other (quiet hours, cleanliness, taking steps to avoid the spread of the next pandemic, that kind of thing 😁).

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

• Move-in: Early October ideally, flexible until end of month
• Length: 10–12 month let, ideally renewable.
• Room: Single or double, furnished or unfurnished, but
• Private bathroom/ensuite essential.
• Budget: max £750/month, bills included.
• Location: Anywhere nice with a safe, well-connected commute to EH8 9NW via public transport (including evenings), as I don't drive. Would obviously love walkable distance but open to opportunities.
• Household: Small (2–3 bedrooms), female/non-binary preferred, though open to discuss.
• Reasonable storage space and bike storage matter, if posisble!
• Pet-free household preferred (allergies) and non-carpeted room if possible, though open to discuss.
