Looking for a base for a while

I'm looking for a base while I'm in a transitional period. I've recently come out of a long term relationship and waiting for a house to sell before I can find my own space to put my roots down permanently. I've been happily lodging for about a year and half but my second landlady is selling the property (same as the first). I can provide a reference from them both.

I know there are some lovely HMOs out there but ideally I'd prefer a lodger/live-in landlord set up. I'd need space for a desk (I have my own) and would prefer private bathroom facilities, but happy to find compromises with the right landlord.

I'm largely a work from home professional during the week, with the odd trip into the office (Bham airport or Telford). I'm also a charity volunteer (Walsall) which takes up some time at evenings and weekends including occasional unsociable hours shifts.

I'm quiet and tidy, keep sensible hours, and as a homeowner myself it's second nature to be respectful of my living space and contribute around the home. I'm great with pets and can help with walking/feeding etc, but would prefer not to have them in my bedroom.

I'm a fairly private person, honest and polite, non-political, non-religious, like to think that we all have a place in this world and we should do our best to rub along together. I can't abide lying, racism and hate. Love and let live. I like spending time with friends, watching telly especially sports. I used to play hockey and football but my knees gave up and I got fat! Swimming and walking is more my pace these days.
