Description
Self employed creative seeking new space to call home and begin a very exciting next chapter...
Aside from internet based businesses that are calling for attention, focus, growth and time due to growing market demands and a long refined business strategy that has evetually begun working, I'm also passionately committed to performing, mainly music, but pre-lockdowns my set was a mix of original music, Jazz standard covers and self-written poetry (spoken word would be a common label).
I have since, through the lockdowns and after having 55 gigs cancelled 4 days after booking them (lockdowns rooted) learnt how to better use production software, and there after become truly independent in my creative process, producing, playing multiple instruments, writing, singing & experiementing with vocal styles. The mixing & mastering stage is still yet to be tackled with any level of confidence so I'm at a stage where I need a new start, a clean slate, a fresh space to work, focus & refine my musical catalogue while developing the business side, networking as best I can and all around working hard towards achieving my longer term goals of not only making a decent and consistent living from music and other creative pursuits, but thriving and encountering joyful success as an independent artist, a collaborative session musician (Jazzy style function bands) & also a supportive influence, helping and providing value for the rest of the muical community.
That's an attempted summary of my self-employed work life and passions I'm pursuing...
Regarding finance, income & rent - All covered by Universal Credit & LHA... I have been receiving the benefit from early lockdown time, and am looking for a new space to rent, (ideally a 1 bed flat or studio), where depending on the area/borough - the FULL/TOTAL housing costs will be covered by local housing allowance (LHA for short) which is part of the UC umbrella and a funding support that is provided on top of the other UC parts - NOT a possilbe extra that is 'applied for.' But a certainty and an immediate addition once a suitable property is found & a tennancy agreement is signed.
I'm happy to chat with any potential landlords about this and how it all works, & to provide further details regarding my specific circumstances.
Lastly, I am hopeful, confident & determined that in a short space of time, 1-2 years, I will have grown my businesses, all of them to a point where I'm able to detach from the UC benefit system now financially comfortably supporting myself.
