Looking to move to Sheffield

I've been working at the University of Sheffield the last couple of years and stayed living in London but I've got a new job (still at the university) and I'm now looking to try living in Sheffield. I've mostly been working from home so keen to get into the habit of going to the office and connecting with colleagues.

I’m warm and friendly, like sharing food, chatting, listening to and playing music (mostly folk), board games, chess, watching TV and films, doing a crossword, playing football, going for a walk or cycle. I'm vegetarian, mostly vegan, also lefty politically. I'll likely be heading down to London every now and then to visit people.

I'm open to a shared place (where people know each other and are friendly, ideally a bit communal), lodging, or finding my own place. At the moment, my preference is for something relatively short-term, from a few months to up to half a year or so, while I get a feel for the city, but definitely with potential to extend if it works out well. I've got some mates living on the west side of Sheffield, so bit of a preference for there (Walkley, Crookes) but really open to getting to know other parts of the city as well.
