Description
I am an academic, currently on a career break, while starting up my business.
I will have to move out from my current place by the end of May, as it will undergo renovations, and therefore I am looking for options for a new place - where I could move as soon as possible, ideally.
** Moving out from the current place is not negotiable for me. This is why, in parallel, I am searching for a place just for myself. However, if I find a shared place with someone with whom I get along well, I would be happy to fully consider it - hence this advert.
I have my own furniture (bed, sofa, armchair, desk, coffee table, dinner table, bookshelves) and household/kitchenware items, and would of course want to bring them in. Also, I will need to be included in the tenancy agreement with the owner. I already have a letter of recommendation from the current place, which could be shared with you (flatmate and/or owner) upon request.
I am looking for a place where I have equal rights regarding any house admins, which means that I would consider living in with the landlord only in exceptional circumstances (I assume that a live-in-landlord would not be able to accommodate my stuff anyway).
I am into meditation and a conscious lifestyle. I am not into parties and therefore would prefer to share the place with someone who has the same lifestyle.
My significant other passed away 3 years ago, and this has made me retire from an active social life. However, I have always had strong bonds with my friends (most of them in Europe, now) and thus I will be happy to become friend with my flatmate. I enjoy cooking, baking, bread making, I workout weekly, I would love to get into hiking more seriously than for a leisure walk. Not at least, I love art and would be happy to go to theatre/music concerts, etc. If these are activities you would like to do together with me, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I am comfortable being by myself and respecting boundaries.
* while the en-suite feature is optional, the need to accommodate my personal items is a must.
* I am not of UK origin. I have worked in an international environment for 15 years and therefore am used to meet people of various backgrounds. I expect that any prospective flatmate / landlord would embrace global values and show a genuine understanding for the diversity of life paths.
