Looking To Buddy Or A Room In East

Hi everyone! I’m Melis, 32, and I work freelance as a writer and editor for architecture and culture organizations and magazines. Our landowner is selling the house, so I’m looking for a new place ideally within the next couple of months—but I’m very flexible with timing and happy to move sooner.

I’ve been living in London for six years. I’ve always lived and loved being in East London, but I’m also open to exploring a different part of the city and discovering a new neighbourhood.

What matters more to me is the people I live with and the feel of the home. I’d love to share with someone who’s up for chatting now and then, pouring a glass of wine together when we’re in the mood, or swapping Saturday-night stories over a Sunday-morning coffee. I really value privacy and time alone (for myself and others), but I’d like the house to feel like a home—somewhere we actually look forward to coming back to.

A bit about me: I love making spaces feel cozy. I used to work as an interior designer and still care a lot about how interiors feel—whether it’s a living room that’s nice to read in or a kitchen/dining area that feels welcoming for cooking and hosting friends.

I’m into art, music, and sports. I play volleyball with a club in London and train or have games a few times a week. I also love going to gigs, discovering and sharing new music, visiting galleries, and spending afternoons in bookshops or cafés. I enjoy my friends and meeting new people!

As I’m self-employed, I mostly work from home, so having a room or an area that could serve as a study space or desk setup would be ideal. I’d also love to have an ensuite if possible.
