Professional Female (28) Looking for a Room

Hi everyone! ☺️ My name is Katie, and I'm looking for a new room in Edinburgh.

I'm currently living in Portobello area but hoping to either move somewhere else closed to my new job (Leith or anywhere from city centre to Leith would be best). I'm looking for somewhere in the new year - start of 2026. My budget is around max £800 with bills/council tax.

About me a little bit! I'm 28 and I'm from Ireland originally, and have lived in Edinburgh since August (previously for about a year in 2022/2023 and absolutely adore the city so very excited to be back!) Between my Edinburgh living, I was doing a working holiday visa in Canada, which was also amazing! I work full time as a software support advisor in Leith and work from home about 2/3 days a week.

I'm very clean, tidy and respectful of roommates spaces. I love reading, hiking, knitting, swimming and just being out and about! I'm learning to do some crochet and embroidery so a few craft nights would definitely be up my alley (as well as nice movie nights) ✨ I'm not a big drinker at all but fancy a drink now and then!

One thing to mention health-wise: I’m quite sensitive to my environment, particularly mould, so I’m looking for a place that’s dry, well-ventilated and mould-free. A bathroom fan and good airflow/windows are a big plus!
I’m also sensitive to strong smells (for example very new paint or furniture), so low-scent shared spaces are important for my comfort and everyone’s happiness long-term.

I'm absolutely okay with pets, they're a big bonus actually!!
