ABOUT ME
I'm 25 and I'm a postgraduate researcher at King's. My post lasts at least another 18 months, so I'll be around for a while.
My research is in philosophy, and when people will listen I like to talk about that (I do foundational philosophy of language, theory of meaning and reference, and related things). I'm also into climbing, and sailing whenever someone lets me on their boat. I volunteer for a charity which takes kids camping, so I'm away for a weekend roughly once a month, and generally for a 2 week stretch over the summer. I published my first short story this month and I'm hoping to do some more creative writing over the next year.
I'm pretty tidy and fairly quiet during the week (a job and PhD do that to you...). I like a glass of wine in the evenings, maybe a game of cards, and sometimes I sit up writing code or reading books.
I don't work from home much -- I go into uni every day. Sometimes I go in
very early, I'm good at being quiet around the house.
Shoot me a message if you'd like to talk!
MONEY
My PhD is sponsored by a trust. They guarantee to pay my rent up to 1250/month every month (that figure can cover a combination of rental cost and bills, however these are divided) and they also pay me a small stipend each month. On top of this I teach at the university during term time, and generally get a part time job in a coffee shop of similar over the summer.
WHERE I'D LIKE TO LIVE
I'd like to live somewhere with space for a real double bed which doesn't touch both walls at once, and some shared living space (a living room/kitchen). I read/write at home quite a lot in the evenings (nothing major -- some voluntary admin for the charity, and some coding for open source software), so I need reasonable desk space.
I don't really like overly modern places -- feels like living in a bad reality tv show.
I'm vegetarian, though I don't mind living with meat eaters. I'm bisexual. I don't have a partner, though I date casually and sometimes have people stay overnight.
IDEAL HOUSEMATES
I've lived with all sorts of people and enjoyed it. I'm happy to live with students or professionals. I'm not a massive party animal, but I like clubbing now and then, and having friends round to the house occasionally.

P. s. A lot of ads on here ask for young professionals -- I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but I have a full funding package which will easily cover rent and bills in a reasonable price range, I do 10-5 in a classroom with a laptop every day, and I take my research seriously -- I try to treat it like a job (I also have a part time gig in a cafe for some cash on top of my funding, so I'm out early in the morning on some days). I hope my being a student doesn't scare you off.
P. p. s. I've worked in coffee shops since I was about 17, so I make REALLY good coffee.
