Description
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to read my grovelling ad!
My housemate has just bought his own place and it’s on the cards for my other housemate so it’s time to move on ☹️
I’ve been living in my current place with 2 guys in an LGBTQ+ friendly household for almost 18months, and before that I was in Finsbury Park in a 3-bed flatshare for almost 12 years(!) so I’m very used to living with other people, sharing responsibilities, and pulling hair out of the plug hole. My move-out date is 19th August 2026, however I’d love to find something ASAP, and am prepared to agree a tenancy from whenever it becomes available and have some crossover time to move keep the stress-levels down!
I’m London born and bred and ideally, I really want to be around Finsbury Park, or at least north of the river, but I’m totally open to South London, I’ve just never lived there! The most important thing to me apart from having cool flatmates is having decent transport options (including night buses), preferably a Lidl or Aldi within walking distance, and ideally no further out than Zone 3. My budget is modest but I believe it’s possible to achieve! That said, I do have some flexibility and could stretch so don’t rule me out!
I’d prefer not to live with more than 1 or 2 others and I’m looking for a decent-sized double room. The dream would be with built-in wardrobes but enough space for storage solutions will work! I do have most of my own bedroom furniture, including a bed, bookcase, small desk and 3 chests of drawers (all Ikea, obv) so I can work with an unfurnished space if that’s what is available. A living room is a definite want, and some outdoor space would definitely be a big tick for me.
I’m 42 - please don’t let that put you off! No kids, no pets, no partner. I’m an internal recruiter working on a hybrid basis and my office days are flexible. I enjoy wine, festivals, true crime documentaries and I’m in a choir which gets me out of the house and socialising - I don’t practice at home, don’t worry!
The possibly awkward bits - I do smoke but never inside so I hope that isn’t a detractor. I also eat meat although I don’t actually cook with it loads, but I am very respectful of sharing a kitchen with those that don’t eat meat and have lived with vegetarians and vegans very comfortably in the past. More generally, I’m chilled, respect personal space and enjoy time on my own but also a good chinwag and putting the world to rights over a coffee or glass of wine. I’ll take a genuine interest in your day and listen to you vent if that’s what you need, or leave you alone if you don’t want that.
This has become an essay, sorry… God, I hate having to move! If you’re still reading, please make this as painless as possible for me!
Hoping to hear from my new potential flatmate(s) soon.
