Hello! My name is Yannie.

I am a professional female aged 30. Currently i'm writing my thesis based in Liverpool and working as a medical interpreter from home for US clients in the evening. I finished my coursework for my Master's degree in Austria and felt like it was time to move away from Klagenfurt, a lovely but small Austrian city. Grew up in HK bilingual in English and Cantonese. Fluent in French and conversational German.

I am looking for a medium single or double room. I am available to move from 25/05/2024 and have a budget of around £550-600pcm including bills. I would prefer to share with females, ideally between 25 and 35 years old.

I consider myself a discreet and responsible flatmate, with no problems keeping up with the cleaning schedule but won't impose cleaning standards or pressure about cleaning on others. Appreciate straightforward and open communications about expectations and boundaries among flatmates. Looking forward to living with like-minded folks and spend some quality time.

Everyone says they like reading, sports, films and music, I guess it's helpful for me to be a bit specific. Here's a part where you'd get to know me better as a person and my hobbies:

-I used to do Thai boxing intensively years ago, did more gym/ cycling in Austria but would love to get back to a boxing gym and just dive into it again.

- I cannot insist how much I enjoy cooking for people and have a couple of go-to recipes both veg and non-veg flatmates and friends love. My pasta and curry recipes are REALLY GOOD. I sing in the shower. I like sci-fi, horror and indie films.

- Love indie music but not a music snob.

- Enjoy going to movies/ restaurants/ concerts alone but why not with flatmates when we can have a good convo afterwards.

Lived, worked, studied in a couple of cities over the part years, certainly have some interesting stories to have conversations about. I enjoy having meaningful and respectful conversations about cultures. politics, or anything really, like skincare, recipes, philosophy, fixing macbooks... etc. If that's not what you're into I can keep it to myself too. :)

4 key things about the next flatshare I look for:

1. Bike storage - My bike represents my freedom and I'd love to have a bike again when I move in, so I'd need a space for storing my bike. It'd be great if you're into cycling and exploring different places in the city. Looking forward to exploring London (and learning how to) despite the traffic looks intimidating for a girl who's used to cycling in Austrian small town.

2. Possibility of having visitors - My partner is based in Ireland and might visit for no more than 3days at a time every 2 months. We are discreet and quiet if he'd be over visiting. I'd be away in Ireland from time to time for visiting. Got really cool friends from over all Europe who might visit but honestly I wouldn't have more than 2 visitors other than my partner staying for 2-3 days each time in a year.

3. WKH - I'd prefer a flat where I can work from home for a couple of hours in the evening. (equivalent to amount of time people binge-watching netflix at night really). Willing to contribute more to the bills if needed.

4. Appreciate a quiet environment - I invest in good earplugs and headphones but I'd prefer not having 30-people house parties, I love them but not in my place. I don't bang doors and blast music with heavy bass I hope others won't too. I'd appreciate housemates who share the same expectations, keeping our place comfy and cozy. Happy to collab for making a stylish living room together too.
