Fresh start in new home wanted. No agents

I'm a 42 year old working professional looking for a fresh start... open to house-shares, housing co-ops, live-in landlords as well as lodging situations.

Seeking either a double room or something self-contained (e. g. studio/bedsit, garden house, annex, tiny home, top floor, basement).

Originally I'm from Lancashire but have lived most of my adult life in London. I'm now looking to move to Brighton in time for the onset of Spring.

I'd like to settle somewhere for a while ideally but am open to shorter term stays and sublets in the meantime.

My partner lives in East London and I'll be away 2 nights a week staying with her (normally Thu-Sat). Likewise she will come to stay for a night once a week (over the weekend).

I work as a couples therapist and individual psychotherapist, which I mostly practice in-person from a rented office in London (that I intend to keep for the time being).

I also run some workshops/events (poetry, psychogeography, personal development stuff) and over the summer I volunteer every other weekend for a drug safety/psychological welfare charity at small UK festivals and music events. I've always a few creative projects on the go too that I'm either getting lost in or procrastinating on.


I'm a responsible, house-trained guy with a sense of humour who enjoys meaningful conversation and likes getting to know people when sharing a place. At the same time I'm not someone who needs to make small-talk and I'm more comfortable with silence than most.
I bought a 2nd hand car last summer and am currently enjoy doing mini road trips at the weekends. Somewhere with a parking space would be a bonus.
