No Live in Landlords.
Hello!
I'm a friendly, full time professional in my mid 40s looking for a medium/long term place to call home. I’d love to find a relaxed, respectful household with kind housemates, and space for one exceptionally sweet and well behaved cat (she insisted I mention her).
I'm ideally after a double room, ideally unfurnished as I have my own furniture, but I also have a storage unit so I can bring what’s needed and leave things behind. As long as there's a comfy mattress, that’s good enough for me. I’m hoping to move before the end of December but I’m very flexible.
A bit about me 👋
I work in mental health and am self employed. I work three days a week in my office in East London. The other two days I work from home in my room. Outside work, I enjoy reading, long walks, and the usual socialising. I also do a fair amount of activist work and help in a soup kitchen.
My taste in music leans towards jazz, folk (a recent discovery), and gipsy styles, and I’m a big fan of independent artsy cinema.
I tend to get along best with progressive people who have no issues respecting people's pronouns!! It's important to me that you're open minded, considerate and kind.
Around the house 🧼
I like to live in a clean and tidied home, especially in shared spaces. I’m happy to chip in for a cleaner if that’s easier for everyone. Equally happy to take turns, clean together. Whatever works, as long as cleaning gets done regularly.
The cat 🐾🐈⬛
She’s been with me since she was a kitten. She's very sweet natured, very playful and affectionate (but not clingy). Her favourite hobby is fly hunting, and she’ll reward your efforts with a purr if you join in. She mostly keeps to herself but also loves to be around and ALWAYS up for some playtime! Naturally, she'll be my responsibility.
Other bits
I’m vegan/plant based, but I’m very relaxed about people's food habits. My previous housemate ate meat and it was never a big issue.
Ideally, I’d love to live in a home where there’s the option to chat while cooking (I love to cook for others), maybe share a film night or a glass of wine or a cuppa now and then, while also respecting each other’s space and downtime. If we become friends, great. If not, a warm, easygoing co living arrangement suits me just as well. I prefer to live with people of similar age, late 30s to late 40s.
If this sounds like a good fit, I’d love to hear from you, and so would the cat! 😉
