Energetic creative looking for a new base

Heya!

My name’s Ben. I grew up in Germany and lived there all my life – but that’s about to change. I’ve been wanting to move to England for a while since my family on my Dad’s side is English, but I never had the opportunity to – until now! I’m finishing my Master in June and looking to move early to mid-July. I want to take a break from education, live and work somewhere else and meet new people. Maybe that will be you!

I think I should start by writing out what I’m looking for, and then tell you about myself, so you know whether I sound like a good fit. I’m looking for something cozy and social, mostly. I’m pretty energetic and often down for stuff, so I would love to find a cool space with other people that’s more than just living next to each other. I appreciate the ability to close my door and just be by myself, I mean who doesn’t, but I do want to find a space and people to connect with where I live.

So who am I? What could we connect over?

I am 25 years old. I did my Masters in History and English, and my other passions are in art and music. Specifically: theatre, writing and Drum and Bass. I’ve been into DnB since I discovered it as a teen and I won’t lie and pretend it’s not one of the big reasons I’m eager to move. If any of you are ravers, there’s a high chance we get along :D. I dabble in DJing too, but nothing professional so far.

Theatre is an even bigger thing for me. It started as a hobby and I guess officially it still is, but it occupies a much larger space in my life. I was very active in student theatre in my old uni, up to and including directing plays and writing my own. And I think they’re pretty good. I hope to continue that hobby in my new home too, joining some amateur groups or working in production assistance or other areas.

Aside from that? I’m a very energetic person, in general. I need my me time regularly, I mean yeah everyone does, but especially in the summertime I love being out and about. City trips, a pint somewhere with a nice view, stuff like that. I’m a nerd about some stuff and a hater about others, but I think that’s the kind of stuff we’ll find out once we talk.

Meeting you in person might be tricky for the next few weeks (on account of the whole living on the continent thing), but I’d be hyped to introduce myself through Zoom or something like it, and then maybe arrange an in-person meeting from there.
