Looking for a room / flat with my wife

Hi everyone, I am a 1st year PhD student based at the University of Glasgow. My wife is supposed to join me this October for the duration of my studies. I am 27, and she is 25-years-old. We're a non-smoking, non-partying married couple. My wife will have a dependant status, which would affect the council tax.

I receive stipend from the Scottish Graduate Schools of Arts and Humanities for the duration of my PhD studies. There won't be any problems with paying right on time. I can pay for 3-6 months of rent upfront, if needed.

I would like to find a room/flat for at least 1 year, ideally for 2.5 years. I believe landlords would prefer someone who can stay for longer periods of time.
