PhD student looking to buddy up

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2nd-year PhD student at Newcastle University, currently living in a three-bedroom house in Jesmond. My tenancy runs until September 2026, and while my current housemates are finishing their degrees and moving out, I’m keen to stay in the house for another year.

I’m therefore looking for one new housemate to join me from September 2026. Another room has already been taken by a 24-year-old PhD student who will be moving in at the same time, so we’re looking for one more person to complete the house.

We’d ideally be looking for someone around our age who is doing a postgraduate degree (Master’s/PhD) or is a young professional.

The house is on Clayton Park Square, which is a great location — really close to Newcastle University campus, Jesmond Metro, and the city centre. Rent is currently £550pcm excluding bills.

A little about me: I’d say I’m a clean, laid-back, and respectful person. I enjoy both nights out and nights in. I’m a big fan of music (mainly alternative rock/indie — Radiohead, The Smiths, The Strokes, etc.), and I’m also into travelling, football, boxing, chess, the gym, going for walks, golf, good food, films/series, and anime.
