My name is Joe, and I’m a 44-year-old IT professional with extensive experience working across Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa. I’m fluent in English, French, and Spanish. Although I was born in the UK, I was raised throughout Europe and have only recently returned to the UK for the first time due to Brexit.

I arrived back in the UK in June of 2024 and, unfortunately, I don’t have any family or connections here. Despite my efforts, I haven’t yet been able to secure employment, leaving me in a challenging situation. As a result, I had no choice but to apply for Universal Credit to support myself during this difficult time.

My case worker has informed me that I’m eligible for housing support, the amount is based on the postcode of the property. They can also arrange for the rent to be paid directly to you, ensuring there is no risk in receiving payment.

I am seeking a quiet and very clean place where I can focus on finding a job and getting back on my feet. Cleanliness is very important to me, and I hope to find an environment that reflects this.

The reason Brexit is only impacting me now is that I spent the last four years in Africa and one year in Southeast Asia. My attempt to secure residency in France, where I previously worked for nine years, was unsuccessful. This has brought me to my current situation, which is far from ideal, and I assure you, I am doing everything I can to improve it.
