Returning HOME

I love a place to live that feels like a home, and I always land in a beautiful place. I was born and raised in London, and have been living in the San Francisco Bay area California, for about 30 years. For a good five or more years now I have been planning to move back to London and with my mother turning 89 this December, I’m really wanting to spend more time with her. In fact, I’m in London right now, helping her out after a recent surgery.
I love to cook in my spare time and I’m a bit of a homebody. I teach some yoga classes online and so some of my work is done at home. When I’m not hanging out at home, I love to travel and I love to explore and I really really love spending time in London. I’ve taught yoga for 30 years and with the pandemic, I returned to my childhood love of taking care of animals. I’m the pet sitter for my whole block and I’ve got some really faithful customers around the Bay Area. So having some furry housemates is a great plus.
I’ve lived in some quite unique environments, I lived in a yoga school for 16 years.
I enjoy the balance of some private space to retreat to, for example, I currently live in a beautiful attic room and then living with great people that can share meals with and good conversations and carry the load of running a home.
I’ve been in my current home for 6 years, which is a small co-op of professionals living together plus one of the women’s 14-year-old girl.
I am clean and I like things organized/not too messy, I always clean up my room before going to bed and I don’t leave clutter or mess in common areas. But I’m not a clean freak and I’m pretty relaxed about it.
I think I’m a very conscientious, responsible, and respectful housemate. I also have a great sense of humor.
Having taught yoga for 30 years I’m pretty interested in the healing arts, herbalism, healthy, organic foods, etc. At my current home, we have a big yard with 13 fruit trees and a vegetable garden and six chickens.. my current living situation is great and yet I am strongly craving and wanting my return home to be close to my mother and to return to my roots.
I would be getting myself reestablished in London and have some savings to help with that. But don’t currently have work in London and so any kind of live work trade or similar arrangement would be a dream come true.
