Description
Hello!
My name is Mikkie, 27 years old, from the Netherlands and I am planning to move to London in January.
I finished my degree in Art History and Education in the Netherlands last year. But I don't want to put my degree to use just yet.
Because more than an art teacher, I am a singer and a writer. And I want to move to London to try to make "it" happen, as a (semi) fulltime musician/theater play writer/allround creative performer.
My genre is pop music, leaning towards rock/punk, very 80's inspired (Blondie, Madonna)
For my plan to succeed I need a couple of things. Mainly, a place to stay in London.
I've been traveling back and forth between London and the Netherlands for the last few months, but I want something more permanent.
I have lived in Utrecht for the last 7 years. Always with housemates and I'm really looking for a place that feels like a home.
I'm a good cook who doesn't always make the time to cook for herself, but loves to cook for others.
I'm a very social person and a good story teller. But I also appreciate some time alone to recharge after an out and about day.
Also, I'll probably be out of the house quite a bit.
Other things about me:
• Big Cat person (my cat at home in the Netherlands is 8 kilo/17 pounds).
• Pop Culture Connaisseur (sometimes described as a chronically online zillenial)
• Full of Fun Facts and Puns (and a lover of lists with bullet points)
I don't need a big room, but I do need some closet space. Because as a singer, half of your work goes into choosing a good outfit, right?
Other that that I'm very flexible in regards to the room.
I have quite some dietary restrictions, so I would love a kitchen where there's space for my gluten free & dairy free food supply. Because eating out/take away is not always an option for me.
I would also prefer a non-indoor smoking house, but I have lived in houses where people smoke before, so it's not a dealbreaker.
And lastly, as a proper ~struggling artist~ my budget is very low. So I would love to be able to talk about that.
