Description
My partner of 5 years, Dina, and I are Canadians settling into life in London.
I'm a director/writer, and Dina is a singer-songwriter and visual artist. :-) We both mostly work from home, but outside of that, we spend a lot of our time cooking, going on walks, and watching films. We don't drink, smoke, or do any drugs (social homebodies!).
We love the arts, travel, animals, and nature! We've traveled quite a bit and enjoy it for both work and pleasure. For the last while, to support our artistry and our interest in travel, we've been pet-sitting, which we absolutely love! If we had a place of our own, we'd definitely have a pet, so it's become a really rewarding way to live here in London. It's also allowed us to explore many corners of this lovely city.
As we've gotten busier with work, we've been needing a more permanent living situation. A place that feels cozy and familiar, where we can share some meals, conversations, and laughs. We hope to find a space that also has a little fur friend.
At home, we're quiet—usually, the most you'd hear from us are meetings, which we're happy to wear headphones for. Dina will do vocal warm-ups before shows or sometimes has to record/rehearse something, but she always checks with other people's schedules, and it doesn’t last longer than an hour. (It's also beautiful, haha.)
We're looking to live with folks who are kind, love a good chat, but are also happy to share space in loving silence, haha. We’re up for a big dinner with friends but prefer for parties to be out of the house.
We would need a room to ourselves, large enough for a king-size bed and two desks. Our own bathroom would be a bonus, but not a deal-breaker. We're at a crossroads in our careers—very busy but still trying to find consistency in income (We can comfortably meet the budget we've set). So we've balanced our lives financially by housesitting. With that in mind, we’re happy to take on a few more responsibilities in the household as we know our budget is low.
Also, we're clean, and that's extremely important to us. We don't leave dishes around, we take out the bin when it's needed, and we leave spaces as we found them. We're more "clean as you go" types vs. booking a day off to clean.
We look forward to finding a home in London to share and call our own!
