Description
Hi I’m Tom, I’m looking for a single or double room in a friendly flat/house share, ideally with working professionals, though I’m open to living with students who have moved on from the living in squalor phase. I currently live with 3 close friends in Kennington on the standard issue eye-watering monthly direct debit for rent in a zone 1 four bed.
I’m moving out in the (perhaps naive?) pursuit of finding somewhere cheaper in an effort to bulk up the war chest to go travelling in a year or two, as well as finally having a go at rolling the infamous dice of spare room;
at best, I’ll be fortunate enough to meet some incredible people who’s new perspectives, different interests and - with any luck - cats, will enrich my life, and at worst, ill get to donate a kidney to someone in need?
I’m a chef working at French brasserie in Mayfair, so the hours of the day I spend at the house will vary, but on average my shifts are 8 hours long and start at 8am or 3pm, with two days off per week.
Naturally cooking is my biggest passion, cooking for others even more so, so on days/evenings I’m home, I’d love to be able to cook the occasional lunch/dinner for my flatmates/consenting guinea pigs.
In every other facet I’ll be a pretty standard/un-offensive flat mate; I enjoy movie nights, barbecues, séances etc. I’m an active person who loves exercise with a focus on weight lifting/cycling/yoga, and more recently hiking after taking a solo trip up to the lake district. if you play tennis or padel thats also a plus.
I love live as well as dance music so I’ll always be game to come along to any concerts / dj sets you’re interested in.
Whilst a large part of why I’m on here is to meet new people who are more than just heads under a shared roof, I value my personal space and alone time when my social battery is depleted, so living with people who respect that is important to me, in turn I will do the same.
And whilst I do like having the occasional small scale dinner party, my days spent hosting beer bottle littered pre-drinks / afters until the sun comes up are behind me, and because I’ll often have to work on Saturday’s and Sunday’s I’d prefer to have housemates who are also on the chiller side when it comes to partying AT the house - the only time I can deal with sticky floors is if I find myself in a spoons somewhere.
Impossible to cover everything on here so if we get into the talking phase I’m obviously happy to answer any other questions, please give me a shout if you have a room/buyer for a kidney you think I’d be appropriate for!
