Heya - Looking for a Home in London!

Hi Future Housemate!

I'm a 35 year old project manager/architect who moved from Melbourne, Australia, to London in August 2024.

I have been happily living in the south-east, in Lee, but am now looking for a new room to rent as my existing lease has come to an end.


In my current role I project manage the design and construction of new social housing, and have been working in this space the past 5 years. Before that I worked as an architect for 6 years, and tutored in architectural history for another 2 years (needless to say London is a very exciting place for me).


I work Monday to Friday, usually spending 2-3 days in the office, which is also in the south-east, and 2-3 days working from home, which I happily do from my room.
In terms of my extra-curricular interests I enjoy camping, hiking, running, sea/ocean/lake swimming, weekend markets, cooking/baking, arthouse cinemas, reading and galleries. I love spending my weekends exploring different neighbourhoods of London, and this year alone I have travelled abroad to Madeira, Greece and Poland. Switzerland is next...would love to hear what travels you have planned!

In addition to having house-shared for a number of years in my 20s and 30s, I also own an apartment in Melbourne which is currently tenanted so I'm super mindful of treating the space and its inhabitants with respect.

I also enjoy spending time with my housemates and making a house feel like a home, but am equally happy retreating to my own space, and consider myself clean, tidy and considerate on the whole. On that note, I'm interested in a 6 month lease at a minimum.

Even though I do not have any pets, when I first moved to London I completed some wonderful pet-sitting opportunities in Walthamstow, Cheam, Ware, St Albans and Wokingham. So I'm happy if you have pets.
