Description
Hi! I'm Chris - 23 year old looking to move to Bristol around December or early next year.
My background:
Originally from Poland, I've lived in the UK for over a decade. I lived near London for a while before moving to the North East during my undergrad at Durham.
I'm now going into postgrad research at UoB in computer science.
My day-to-day and interests:
I'm usually in the office 9/10-5+, though I might like to work from home occasionally.
After work, I'll likely head straight to the kitchen, have dinner, rest for a minute in the living room and catch up with my housemates.
I then tend to enjoy the last bit of the sun with a short walk or a bike ride in a park (if in season) before indulging in a hot chocolate, board/video games, movies, and other leisures to wind down for the day.
I also go to the gym 2-3 times a week in the evening or the morning if I feel like an early bird. Sometimes I will also go swimming for some variety.
I really like to try new things over the weekend - I've been getting into rollerblading and ice skating over the past year and I'm loving it! I also like badminton (though I am terrible at it). I try to plan some days out like to the beach, nature reserves, hiking, sightseeing or a long bike route. I love good weather and will never refuse a barbeque or a picnic. I'm currently looking to get into gymnastics. In terms of going out - I like art galleries (usually more modern art, and art in all forms) and museums, and activities like bowling, darts, and mini golf. I will also enjoy a drink at a pub or bar and some very occasional dancing if I'm feeling brave.
If this sounds like a lot - I also reserve a good number of weekdays/weekends purely for chilling at home, recovering from the day/week, and preparing for the next. I enjoy living my life to the fullest but only if I, and those who join me, have the energy to. Generally, I am quite laid back.
Accommodation:
I'm looking for a home with a sociable living space and ideally in a good state that we could happily live in very long-term (10+ years - just hypothetically - i. e. not a stereotypical student house). Since I might like to work from home sometimes, I would also need space for a desk in my room and reliable internet.
Not too far from the centre (say Temple Meads) - I am happy with <40 mins by bus (or 30 mins on foot if unavailable) or 20 mins on a bike. I am thinking about getting a car, so a parking space would be nice (street or driveway).
I'd be happy with 1-7 housemates, preferably double beds though not necessary, same with en-suites. I'd also prefer the kitchen to have at least one cupboard, fridge shelf and freezer drawer per occupant. My budget is flexible, but I'd prefer to keep it below 950pm with bills (something around 700-800 with bills is best).
I'd prefer no live-in landlords.
Housemates:
I'd love to live with someone who I could chill and have days out with (but without pressure to, of course). I am quite clean and would prefer my housemates to match.
I have no preference for gender or other personal attributes. I don't mind living with couples but would need at least two other single housemates (so that I am not a third wheel :D).
Feel free to send me a message :) I'd love to get to know people around Bristol x
