Moving for work, need a room near Slough

Hi! I'm a friendly and creative Kiwi who likes to cook. I'm looking for a room within easy public transport of Burnham, Slough. Preferably furnished, but would consider unfurnished if the price was right.
I work office hours and I'll be out some evenings and weekends for activities and small trips, and spend other free time at home working on craft projects.
I'd prefer a place where I can have a friend stay for a night or two occasionally, as my friends are spread out all over Europe, but I'd be open to somewhere where I couldn't have overnight guests depending on the price.
I would be willing to pay up to £900/month for a small self contained house or apartment (studio, 1 bed or 2 bed) if I don't find a house share
