Description
Semi-retired disabled polymath sculptor and musician with sailing and barge restoration experience seeks long term let of a houseboat in West London ideally for sole occupation.
I have recently rented workshop space in Kew and want to find a houseboat on a residential mooring within more reasonable travelling distance. I am not looking for all mod cons, though a washing machine would be welcome, and am able-bodied enough to manage some maintenance - indeed I would much prefer this to a furnished space, as I have an auto-immune condition with allergy to all perfumed products, so carpets and soft furnishings previously used and cleaned by others are problematic.
I can afford up to and a little above the local housing allowance in rent - eg 1450/mth in Barnes, 1050/mth in Twickenham, and could be as far downriver as Chertsey for the right place. I can manage to climb aboard but need parking available fairly nearby, perhaps with a resident's permit. I will not consider short-term lets, but dry land maybe... I'm in South East London now and also looking for work-exchange helper here.
I could consider a more expensive 2 bedroom space provided I have the complete management of who I share with due to my breathing allergy. This could mean I cover the majority of the rent and share with a helper who can give 2-7 hours a week. I also have a companion house rabbit of near impeccable habits! I check email rarely so please be patient... I'm in no hurry and can wait for the best place to come along.
