Hello, I’m a single 55 year old male looking to rent a room in London, ideally in the NW3 or NW6 postcodes.
I’ve lived alone in rented accommodation for the last 16 years, taking sole responsibility for the rent. I’m happy to provide references / contact details for the three addresses I rented from. I spent 2018 to 2023 in NW11 and am familiar with the area, hence my wanting to stay around here.
I’ve spent the last 25 years working in musical instrument retail but was made redundant earlier this year. Whilst searching for a new position, my rent payments would be covered by Universal Credit at £163 per week in NW3 or £190 per week in NW6. Not a huge sum but apparently what our government considers average for the respective areas. However, I am reliable, clean and trustworthy and happy to provide referees and even my cv if you’d like to see it.
The Universal Credit team require an Assured Leasehold Rental Policy or legal commercial contract in order to start making payment directly to a landlord.
