Starting a PhD at UCL – Looking for a Room/BuddyUp

Hi! I’m Zoe, I’ll be moving to London around September 20 to start my PhD in Human Osteoarchaeology at UCL. I’m currently looking for a single or double room (furnished or unfurnished are both fine) with space for a desk, under £1250/month — or to buddy up with someone around the same timeframe to find a flat together. I'd love to be somewhere with an easy commute to UCL and am especially interested in areas like Hackney, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Islington, or Highbury.

A bit about me: I’m 34, vegan (but totally fine living with non-vegans), and tidy, with plenty of past experience in shared housing. I’m looking for a place that feels like home — ideally with friendly flatmates who are down to occasionally share a meal or have a chat but also respect personal space. I recently completed a DIY house renovation so I am handy with minor repairs, decorating and usually pretty great at keeping house plants alive.

I love exploring cities on foot, going to museums, browsing markets and vintage shops, or grabbing a coffee and going wandering. I'm always up for a good concert or a night out, but also just as happy having a night in reading or binging a new show. I’m moving from New York, have lived in Edinburgh previously and am very excited to get to know London!

Ideally I would love to live with others who are kind, respectful, and friendly.
