Easy short-term flatmate — fixed dates, references

Hi there — I'm Shawn Chen, and I'm moving back to Edinburgh at the start of October.

I lived in Scotland for four years before relocating to London for work. My current role wraps up at the end of September, and I'm returning to Edinburgh for a defined stretch: 1 October to 7 November, with my onward flight already booked. Firm dates at both ends — the room is free again from the 8th, with no extensions to negotiate. I'm also happy to pay the full period up front if that's easier for you.

On the paperwork side: my sponsorship ends in early October, but I remain lawfully resident well beyond that. The Home Office typically takes one to two months (often longer) to process a sponsor's withdrawal notice, and then grants a further two to three months for the individual to wind things up and depart. In practice I don't expect to be asked to leave until December at the earliest, and quite possibly not until next year — comfortably past the end of the let. I'm leaving in November by choice, not by deadline, and I'm glad to share my Evisa documentation for a Right to Rent check.

As a housemate I'm quiet and genuinely tidy — I clean as I go rather than leaving it for the weekend. I don't smoke and I don't drink, so no late nights or noise from my end. That said, I'm warm and sociable: happy to chat over coffee in the kitchen, and always straightforward if anything needs sorting.

Outside the flat I play ultimate frisbee and basketball, and I'm a big fan of musicals and live theatre — Edinburgh is a wonderful city for that, and a good part of why I'm coming back. Weekends are usually out with friends; weekday evenings are quiet.
