Hello to all the flatmate seekers out there!

My name is Nour. I’m a 37-year-old journalist and writer currently based in London. I am finishing my Master’s degree in Cultural Studies at SOAS University while starting a new part- time job in the UK.
so I’m looking for a calm space with available space for desk setup where I can focus and feel at home.

A few funny (and slightly sad) facts about me:

I like to say I’m an introvert looking for extroverts to adopt me and gently push me to try new things.

Though I’m shy and quiet, I somehow made it to the open mic stage in Istanbul — and yes, people did laugh at my jokes (sometimes).

The Arabic version of me has published two books and written hundreds of articles. The English version of me? Still finding her voice — think ten-year-old student with a stubborn will to grow.

I cook when I’m nervous, happy, or sad. I rarely follow recipes, but the results are (almost always) delicious.

As a Syrian, I carry a lot with me — especially as a journalist. I wish I were starting this adventure feeling lighter, but the truth is I’m worried about my family and affected by what’s happening in my region. Still, I’m hopeful that this year will bring healing, connection, and something new.
