Seeking a room to rent for at least a month

Hi there!

My name’s Eric, and I’m a 29-year-old freelance book editor (and sometimes professional baker) from Canada.

I previously lived in Edinburgh on a two-year visa that expired last December, and I’ve been visiting my family back in Ontario for an extended stay throughout this year so far.

I’m currently in the process of applying for a new two-year visa, which will take effect in late September. As such, I’m looking for a room to rent starting roughly around October 1st (even for just a month, so I can get settled and do some scouting for a longer-term situation).

As a flatmate, I’d say I’m a very clean and conscientious person. I’m coeliac, so I’m pretty disciplined about cleaning up before/after myself in the kitchen. I’m a friendly, social person, but also fairly quiet. I like movie/game nights, going to the pub, but I also like a relaxed night to myself with headphones on. Balance, I guess! My current work allows me to work from home, but I usually prefer to just bring my laptop to a cafe or library (I tend to be more productive out of the house!).

My main interests are books, movies, music, and baking. I also attend a couple of writing groups and sometimes pub quizzes on various weeknights.
