31F looking for a room in a flat

Hello! My name is Monica and I'm moving to London mid-September, looking for a furnished double room in a flat. Though I grew up in California, I've lived in New York for most of the past 10 years and am happy to provide references from past roommates and landlords. I've worked for the UN in sustainable development and in multilateral negotiations, but most of my past roommates and close friends in New York work in tech, art or design.

I'm generally easy with layout (having lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn, I've seen some crazily-organized flats), though am hoping to find a flat that's been lovingly put together and furnished with an easy commute to the Holborn or Temple tube stations. I'd love to help make the flat a home, take care of plants, and of course contribute to the cleaning schedule. Overall, my references will tell you that I'm a fairly quiet and tidy roommate who is down to sit and chat with a cup of tea or cook extra for the house.

On weekends, I'm generally out of the house exploring, catching a show, or traveling. I hike, surf, and boulder, but in the city you'll most likely find me in a bookstore, vintage shop, or at a museum lecture or music hall.
