Looking for room in London!

Hello :)

This is Manuel, from Mexico. I just completed a master’s in Comparative Literature at the University of Edinburgh, and I am looking for a place in London. I am new to the city, and I am open to any areas that are within my budget, which is around 1100 per month. Most important for me is finding a room in a queer-friendly flat, since I seek to be safe in my living space. Other than that, I would ideally like to have my own bathroom, but I am certainly open for rooms where that is not the case. Additionally, I would like to rent out a place for at least six months, since I do plan on staying in London long-term.

Providing some information about myself, I am a writer and avid reader, so that I am quite comfortable in creative environments. Having studied film, going to the movies is also one of my greatest joys, but that is not to say I am too introverted. I can be very social, while also respecting other people’s wishes to remain private or silent. I do enjoy going out, but I have already had my party phase, so there is no need to worry about that. Finally, I speak Spanish, French and English fluently, so that I could potentially cater to anyone who misses speaking in their mother tongue. I can also make Mexican food!!

It is worth noting that I have not yet secured employment, but, since I also studied Literature and Film as an undergraduate at NYU Abu Dhabi, I am currently searching for employment in publishing and other arts-related industries. Considering my situation, I am very much open to larger down payments and showing bank statements to prove my capacity for paying for the room. Additionally, we can discuss my providing a guarantor, since that is an option I have. Finally, I also have a reference from my previous UK landlord.
