Hello, I’m Duncan Russell-Anelli. I’m an American from upstate New York, who was just granted a graduate visa, permitting my legal right to work and live in the UK. Last October, I graduated with an MSc in Anthropology from UCL. I plan to begin a PhD by Sept 2027.

I’d like to move into a flat by October and stay until at least Jan 2026. Our budget is £1400/2000 per month, and ideally we'd like a furnished room with space to store our bikes.

Day to day, I’ll be balancing work, job hunting, and PhD prep, but I’ll often be out at the library or around town. I’ve lived happily in mixed-gender flats and value both friendliness and privacy. I’m respectful, extremely tidy, but not bothered about a little mess. Socially, I’m open-minded and enjoy making new connections. I’m a bisexual guy and very LGBTQ+ and gender-nonconforming friendly!

Outside of work and study, I’m a passionate rock climber and plan to spend weekends in different parts of the country doing just that. I’m also an avid reader and huge nerd — currently working through A Song of Ice and Fire while usually diving into science fiction, philosophy, and literary fiction. Long term, I plan on becoming a professor in political science and have ambitions as an author.
