Hi, I’m currently looking for a room to rent.
I’m a 37 year old male who lives in Manchester but work for Transport for Wales as an Electrical Control Operator based in Taffs Well.
I currently rent a room in Abercynon however the landlord has decided to sell the property.
My rota is on an 8 week cycle and I work 28 shifts in that 8 week period unless I pick up any overtime.
I work a mixture of days and nights including weekends and work 4 weekends every 8 weeks.
I try my best not pick up any overtime as I have a fiancé and two children, so I like to be back home in Manchester as much as possible.
There are 3 different shifts that I work: 20:00-08:00, 06:00-18:00, 10:00-22:00.
I’m happy to send over a copy of my rota.
Although i work 28 shifts every 8 weeks i don’t tend to stay at the property 28 times. 99% of the time I travel straight in to work from Manchester to my first shift and then travel straight home to Manchester after my last shift.
Because I work 12 hour shifts I don’t tend to do much after work. I occasionally visit the gym straight from work but the majority of the time I just watch a film in bed before going to sleep. When I’m on 06:00-18:00 day shifts I will usually bath/shower in the evening after work instead of in the morning.
When on 20:00-08:00 night shifts or 10:00-22:00 day shifts I bath/shower before leaving for work.
I’m conscious of making too much noise early in the morning or late in the evening and try my upmost not to disturb anybody.
I rarely use the kitchen at the properly I’m currently at, and tend to do all of my eating while on shift, as my place of work has a fully equipped kitchen.
I don’t drink alcohol or smoke however I do use a vape pen. I’m a clean, tidy and respectful person and can provide references from my current and previously landlord.
With my current landlord I pay £400pcm and I’m looking for something around the same price.
Originally she wanted £525pcm however with it being my secondary accommodation and with me only staying there part time, we settled on £400pcm.
I apologise for the long-winded ad, I just want to be as transparent as possible.
