Postdoc looking for room - new to Bristol!

Hi! I'm Charlie, a 26 year-old ecologist moving to Bristol from London at the start of January 2026, to start a 3 year postdoctoral research associate role at the University of Bristol. I'm looking for my first flat in Bristol, so would love to find somewhere to settle longer-term but also open to rooms with short-term availability. I'm looking ideally for somewhere within 15 minutes (by bike) of Bristol Uni campus, but generally flexible!

I'm an social, easygoing and adventurous person. I enjoy spending time with my flatmates, and would hope to get to know you rather than just being a cohabitant, but also happy being more independent. I've lived in the same flat in London for the past 4.5 years, with a constantly rotating cast of flatmates who I remain good friends with. I am a keen cook, enjoy listening to music, watching movies and playing board games with my friends, and also getting out into the countryside for some hiking and camping. As a housemate, I am clean, tidy, respectful and undemanding. I don't smoke, but enjoy sharing a drink with friends on a Saturday night.

I work as a tropical insect ecologist, so would be away for a couple months of the year to visit fieldwork sites in Malaysia, Brazil and Ghana. Most of my working time in Bristol would be spent in the laboratory, so I will be out of the house throughout most working days.
