Moving to West Sussex for work

I'm moving to West Sussex to take up a one-year (mat cover) contract locally at Kew Gardens, Wakehurst. So, I'm looking ideally for a well-lit, furnished, quiet double room - with an en suite bathroom if possible - for the next six months to a year. I'd like to share with only one other person if possible, as I'm really looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful where I can get my head down in the new job. However, it would also be great if I could share with a local person who could show me around the area, take me to the best places and give me some local tips!
I don't drive, but I do cycle, so I'd need to be able to bring my bike into the room if possible, for security reasons overnight, or else lock it up securely in an enclosed garden or yard space, or shed/garage?
I'm ideally looking for a place to rent 7 days a week, but in reality I will be going up to London and Brighton most weekends, as I'm an artist who likes to draw/sketch outside, and I'll be doing most of my work on the weekends, outside work. I also like to get away and visit places and go cycling on the weekends, so will be out most of the time, unless the weather's atrocious.
I will need need high speed wifi as I'm probably going to have to do some occasional out of hours duty shifts online as I'm a Press Officer.
Happy to share with a man or a woman, and don't mind pets, as I've grown up around animals and have no allergies.
I'm straight, but would happily share with anyone from the LGBTQ community, if they were keen on the idea.
