Short term first. Long term eventually

Moving to London from Melbourne (Aus) for 1-2 years in Feb 2026. Eventually need to lock in a place long term but looking for something shorter term first until I know I’m happy with it.

My ideal situation is a room with a private bathroom, car space, some outdoor space, in either north London or south west London. So if I find that with the right people I’ll happily lock it in long term.

I’m a teacher who will be working at least a few days a week and planning to travel as much as possible the rest of the time - to the continent and the rest of the UK.

I do aim to buy a car soon enough (for road trips and working on my little side gig) so my long term rental will likely need to be a bit further out of the centre, to accomodate the car. But initially I’m happy to stay closer to central London.

Other than that I’ll likely be out playing soccer, maybe some golf on spare weekends, going to the pub and soaking up as much as I can.
