Description
My name is Ashley. I’m 33 and from the US (most recently NYC and DC), seeking a double room in London.
I’ve been traveling the world for a while and am moving to London in early January to set up a home base. Before I started traveling I worked in consulting (revenue + pricing + marketing office setup). My dream is to go to the UK and get a job in a bakery or a café, but I’m also applying to consulting jobs in case that falls through.
Given that I’m coming over without a job lined up, I am happy to pay two months’ rent up front and then continue to pay a month in advance until I’m employed for your peace of mind. I’m hoping to find a rental through at least April so I can get to know the city a bit better and figure out where I’ll be commuting to geographically before committing to a long lease.
I lived in New York for 10 years, all of them with roommates, so I am well practiced in treating housemates and common space with love and respect. Coming from the US, I am mostly bringing personal items like clothing that will stay in my room, so I am happy to discuss common room things like kitchen items (i. e. if you prefer that I not take up space in the kitchen, that’s easy! Or if you prefer I buy dishes to use that’s not a problem either).
Regardless of the job I find, I do not expect it to be one where I work from home on a regular basis. I enjoy time at home, but my visa is for 2 years, so to make the most of it I’m hoping to travel to cities in the EU and across the UK at least once a month if I have 2+ days off in a row.
I don’t smoke. I enjoy puzzles, a smoky whiskey, and am hoping to start a hobby making syrups / flavorings for coffee and cocktails. I will likely cook when I can to save money, but I always clean up after myself.
I'm friendly and pretty easy-going. I appreciate living with people who are clean and respectful. It would be fantastic to find flatmates who want to do the occasional dinner together, but I am also respectful of boundaries and introvert space :)
