Moving to York

I'm moving from Concord, New Hampshire, in the US, to York and need a place to stay for a month or two, as a "single guy", while I look for work there. I am an accomplished fine dining bartender with 10-plus years of experience. I am 41 years old, born in South Africa to English parents who moved to America in 98. My wife and I have talked about living in England since we first got married 13 years ago, and in the last year have said why not? I plan to be quite studious in my search for work and generally frugal. I am a pretty good cook and make a mean cocktail, although I only drink one or two a week. I hate early mornings and tolerate late nights (bartender and all). I'm not religious, though I was brought up that way. Driving in England still scares me, so I'm not planning on doing that. Buses and walking for me, thank you very much. I plan to be out most days, canvassing for restaurant work or working in the York library.
