Profesional Firefighter Looking for Social House

About me:

Hi, I’m Matt, a 31-year-old professional firefighter looking for a room in a friendly, social, mixed household in Leeds or York. I’m hoping to move in mid to late February and I’m ideally looking for somewhere with parking available and within walking distance of a train station.

My lifestyle:

I work a 2-2-4 shift pattern as a firefighter (two days, two nights, four off). On my days off I am very outdoorsy and love travelling and exploring, so I’m often out and about and a fairly quiet housemate for big chunks of time. That said, I’m also very social and would love to live with people who are open to becoming friends as well as housemates.

In the house:

When I am home, I’m super homely. I love cooking, cleaning, and making cocktails or sharing food/drinks. I come from an Italian family, so I definitely believe friendships are built around the dinner table. I’d say I’m about an 8/10 on the social scale — happy to chat, cook together, or have a drink, but also respectful of everyone’s space and routines.

What I’m looking for:

A mixed household of professional people who enjoy a chat in the kitchen or a drink together, but who also have their own busy lives. Space for a bike and parking would be a big plus.

Why I’m looking:

I’m currently a homeowner, but following a breakup I’ve moved out and am looking for somewhere for around 6–12 months while I get back on my feet and save for my next place. I’m settled, reliable, and looking for somewhere that feels like home rather than just a room.
